Godzilla 2000

Guesse what i'm watching today? Godzilla 2000. I'm on vacation next week so I got a bunch of stuff to watch. It ought to be fun, i've been listening to Watch the Directors, so my need to see list keeps growing, I don't know if i'll be able to catch up. I also got the book by Tim Lahaye "the rapture" it is the 3rd prequel book to the original Left Behind series. I bring that up because I have heard comments on SBE and on etcetera about those books and the people who read them and they wern't possitive comments. I was wondering what it is that is wrong with them? I have read all of the Left Behind books and now these, I have a problem stopping when there are other books left to read, the same reason I watched Matrix 3 even though it sucked so so so bad. These books havn't sucked though, I have enjoyed them, though it does seem to be an excessive # of books to tell the story. Oh, I have seen the 3 movies too. I admit that when I started I was one of those who would only read christian books, watch christian movies and listen to christian music, and no video games at all. I'm not like that anymore but I still like some of them. The difference is now I also like to read Koontz, and watch Tarantino and all that "bad, bad" stuff. Does music get any better than Nine Inch Nails, well besides Michael Card?? I have an xbox now too, I love Halo...

I can't get over that guy Cameron. I know I need to love him and I guess I do but he represents all that I find yucky about Christianity. As for Tarantino, when I wasn't walking with the Lord I watched Pulp Fiction and loved it but when the Kill Bills came out I felt like it would be displeasing to God for me to watch those. Well, I recently watched them with a Christian buddy I loved em'. I didn't feel conflicted about it and I haven't fully grasped why but I think this grace stuff is sticking. Anyway, thanks for posting over on my dealio.

A lot of folks find those books too literal, in their interpretation of the book of Revelation.

Another complaint is the endless dragging out of books to create a christian cash-cow.

Personally, I read them all the way up to Glorious Appearing. I found a couple of them tedious and at times, slow. But I wanted to see how it ended so...

I didn't, however, read the prequels. It just seemed too much. Did you like them? I'd go back and borrow them from the library if they're worth it.

I also saw they have a new one about the millenial reign of Christ. That sounds kind-of interesting...

I stopped buying them around book 8 or so when i found the library, i saw the prequels and thought hmmm wonder what thats about so i gave them a shot, there is some entertainment there but i did find in all the books that they kind of lagged on. The only thing i know of that has gone more than 3 books is dark towers they should have wrapped it up sooner, kinda like the matrix, it started out as a good thing but got ruined in the process.

I still havn't seen pulp fiction, it sounds similar to what Joshus said maybe on a different timeline, i have recently been trying to catch up on all the movies that I wouldn't allow myself to watch cause they were "bad" and I was a christian and shouldn't watch them. I'm over that now, I have seen Kill Bill though I like those. I was so bad that when the star wars Prequils came out I wouldn't go see them, I am glad though that a friend of mine talked me into going to see the originals in the theatre when they were re-released i admit i was peer pressured into it and felt guilty about it but i'm glad now that i didn't miss that. I would see new movies all the time and just see them as some sort of temtation that i had to avoid. I'm over that now, and i'm glad, i can't really say that it is because of freedom or liberty at first, i was doing it as a form of rebellion against God. Now I have found that there are "christians" who watch this stuff and enjoy it, the watching the directers folks even do a great job reviewing and commenting on the film making. Very cool. I'm still behind on movies, its like a nice 8 year or so gap of cultural vacume. I'm slowly filling it in though.
